Broomfield, Colorado – A Colorado family is grappling with the devastating loss of their beloved grandmother, Gayle Jarrett, who tragically passed away in a boating accident while vacationing in the Bahamas.
Jarrett, 75, was one of 100 passengers on an excursion boat headed to Blue Lagoon Island when the vessel capsized on Tuesday morning. The family had originally planned to board a different boat but ended up on the ill-fated ferry due to overcrowding.
Kayla Estep, Jarrett’s great-granddaughter, described her grandmother as an “angel on Earth” with an unwavering faith in God and an immense heart. Estep recounted the terrifying moments leading up to the accident, witnessing the fear in her grandmother’s eyes as the boat began to sink.
